Through the framework of project GeneFINDER, supported by DAAD, the German/Egyptian team organized the first summer school in Neuroscience. The school was organized in the Sonesta Beach Resort, Hurghada in the period from 5-12th September, 2016.
TNSS objectives were to offer an opportunity for knowledge exchange in this emerging field (Translational Neuroscience) to Egyptian students and Faculty in collaboration with their peers from Germany. The school also offered an ideal opportunity for the dialogue between attendants from different cultures. This was ideally achieved through being accommodated in the same place for about 1 week. German and Egyptian professors and Egyptian students had the time to discuss science and at the same time several social issues. Also, the different social activities organized were a perfect chance to break the formal atmosphere which usually accompanies similar events.
